Abbeyleix Parish Hall Committee

The Parish Hall is located at the town end of the Park. While no formal clubs exist, the following sports have been and can be played in this indoor hall which is marked out for numerous sports  Abbeyleix Badminton Club – Contact Barbara Doyle  87 31067 Abbeyleix Special Olympics – Contact Anne O Hanlon 87 31241 Abbeyleix Boxing Club – Have used the parish hall for a number of years and had full equipment, but no longer active in the town. Abbeyleix Active Retirement Group. Activities are run regularly throughout the year. Mary White 87 31257   Snooker Club – An opportunity to reform this club exists at the moment. The two tables were re-covered and are now up to the highest of standards. For anyone looking for information on the club contact either Cormac Lally or John Joe Fennelly 087 2965185 TAE-QUANDO – While no longer active was part of the Halls offering but under Tom Butler their leader, who is a black belt who originally from Abbeyleix and now working in Nenagh was a thriving sport.  The hall is marked out for both Basketball & Volleyball and has been used on & off over the years.  Jelly Tots & Playground  Jelly Tots is a crèche or playgroup run by Abbeyleix ladies group chaired by Mary White. The operation runs on a 5-day 9:00 until 4:30 basis. It is assisted in its operations by Abbeyleix Parish employment Committee and by the department of Justice who funded the new play area outside the CY Parish hall.
