ABC eTown

The ABC appreciates the importance of the internet in the future of the local economy and community development. To this end we have created www.abbeyleix.ie which will be the focus of our eTown initiatives. It aims to be an online service for the community where young and old, businesses, clubs and associations can interact and develop.

* Abbeyleix.ie is an ongoing community based e-project aimed at promoting local businesses and encouraging visitors to come to our town for business, and pleasure.

* eTown hope to develop a local free wifi network in conjunction with local business owners. This will help promote Abbeyleix as a place “to do business”

* ABC eTown hope to develop online service which will help administer, manage and promote local clubs and associations.

* eTown also hopes to raise funds to develop the IT infrastructure and learning in our local schools, thereby making our children prepared for Smart economy of the future.

* We also hope to place Abbeyleix firmly on the map as a place of innovation.
