Equestrian Activities:

Within a stone’s throw of Abbeyleix, you will find an extensive range of equestrian activities to suit all levels and areas of interest.

Laois Hunt:

The Laois Hunt welcomes everyone to get involved in the huge range of activities that they cater for – whether you ride or not! In addition to hunting throughout the season, they organise Point-to-Point racing, Hunter Trials and of course the always glamorous Hunt Ball! Dunamase Riding Club & Laois Hunt Pony Club:

The Riding and Pony Clubs are the lifeblood of the equestrian scene and ours are no exception! Over the summer, they both run a vast array of events from mounted games, showjumping and pony camps to Cross Jump, Dressage and the unmissable Association of Irish Riding Clubs Festival hosted in Stradbally Hall. Stradbally Hall:

Next door to Abbeyleix, Stradbally Hall offers riding tuition in all disciplines at all levels in the most elegant surroundings which have been used as film locations. They also play host to many equestrian events and have become the venue of choice in the midlands for outdoor concerts such as Electric Picnic. A visit there is not to be missed!
